Run and Leap

Every four years, we a get a LEAP year, which gives us 29 days in February rather than 28. Since 2016 is a LEAP year and since we get an extra day (according to the calendar of mankind), we should use the extra day and extra strength we have from God to do what may seems impossible. In 2 Samuel 22:30 and again in Psalm 18:29, we read that through God, we can run against a troop and LEAP over a wall. There are many walls in our lives. Walls between husbands and wives, sisters and brothers, parents and children. There are walls between where we are and where we should be. There are walls between what we have and what we want. Some walls we create to block something out or to block something in. Some walls others create to keep a distance, a stronghold, and barrier between us and them. Some walls are built up over years and years resulting in deep, long-lasting unforgiveness, resentment, and low self-esteem. Other walls are trivial and extraneous, yet very much in our way. But this year is LEAP year and the walls must become a thing of the past. It’s odd that these scriptures don’t suggest we break down or through the walls. No, the idea is to LEAP over them. So while the walls may still stand, they cannot stand in our way. Stop waiting for the walls to come down. This year you can LEAP right over them. Get over it. Let it go. If you want joy, LEAP for it. Increase your expectations.
